PHAKDING

Day 01: |
Take off from Tribhuvan airport by STOL Plane between 7-10 AM. to Lunkla
(9,200 ft.) takes 36 minutes. You will be received by our crew members at
Lukla, After final preparations the trekking starts passing Chaurikharka
village, and descends to Dudhkosi ghat 8300 ft. The track follows the right
bank of Dudhkosi river till Phakding. The first day stage is rather for
administrative and acclimatization reasons. Lunch and dinner both served in
camp. (Appx. - 3 hours) |
NAMCHE BAZER

Day
02: |
After breakfast at 8 AM you will be walking along the river crossing it at
different points by improvised wooden bridges at Benkar 8,900 ft. Jorsale
9,200 ft and two Hillary bridges, at the confluence of Bhotekosi and
Dudhkosi. Have lunch stop near the confluence. Now a steep ascent of over
1000 ft. to reach Namche Bazar, the famous trading rendezvous to Tibet in
the past and now a gateway of all famous Khumbu Himal expeditions. At Namche
and Jorsala, our trekking permits will be checked by HMG Nepal immigration
office. There are shops, health clinic and wireless stations. Saturdays are
the weekly market days. Camping site is suggested above the bazar in the
flat ground for big groups. |
THAMI

Day
03: |
Trek begins north west from here along the ridge of Namche towards the
source of Bhote Koshi river. Your trail today is dominated all the way by
Kwongde and Number Ranges. It is only three hours gradual climb uphill after
lunch for you to reach the village of Thami a gate still do barter trading
along these northern borders. Tenzing Norgay, the first conqueror of Mount
Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary was born in this area. (Appx. - 6 hours) |
KHUMJUNG

Day
04: |
Trek back the same way until you arrive at the ridge of Namche from where
you turn to north wards to the village of Khumjung for your night halt. In a
clear day you will get a good view of most of the Khumbu Himal Range from
here. (Appx. - 6 hours) |
THANGBOCHE

05 & 06: |
After breakfast at 8 AM you will descend gradually to Phungitengma bridge
10,665 ft. on Dudhkosi. Lunch stop will be near to tea stall and the
stupas.
The new track is quite steep for 2000 ft. except for the last few miles
before reaching Thangboche Monastery, camping site is preferable on the open
ground. A visit to the Monastery can calling on the Head Lama (Priest) is
Worthwhile. From here one can see Everest flanked by Lhotse and Nuptse very
clearly. beautiful snow capped Tawoche on the west and Ama Dablam on the
east are also close to ones eyes. (Appx. - 6 hours) |
PHERICHE

07: |
After breakfast descend to Imja Khola passing through the hamlets of
Buddhist Nuns of Thangboche and then ascend gradually to Pangboche 13,000
ft. Lunch stop will be there. You can visit temple and from the bridge enter
into the broad valley of Pheriche village. This day walk will be
comparatively shorter taking into consideration the high altitude effect.
Camping site is preferable near the village (Appx. - 7 hours) |
LOBUJE

08: |
Trek on flat ground along the bank of Tsola Khola till the terminal Moraine
of Khumbu glacier. From Phalong Karpo, follow the western bank of the
glacier to reach Lobuje for your night halt. (Appx. - 6 hours) |
GORKSHEP

Day
09: |
From Lobuje the track leads of Khumbu glacier and passes through a flat area
and reach. Gorakshep. From Gorakshep you can see Khumdu ice falls. (Appx. -
4 hours) |
GHORAKSHEP

10: |
After breakfast ascend to Kalapathar 18, 265 ft. to get better view of the
great peaks of the world Mt. Everest. (Appx. - 5 hours) |
| LOBUJE |
Day
11: |
Visit base camp with your packed lunch and return to Lobuje for camp by
evening. (Appx. - 5 hours) |
DINGBOCHE

Day
12: |
Trek back the same way to Dingboche. (Appx. - 5 hours) |
CHUKUNG
(15,609 ft.) |
Day
13: |
Trek begins with an east walk of 2 hours followed by a gradual climb to
Chukung. Stop here for lunch. After lunch, rest in order to gain in
altitude. It is important to walk for very short distance only. From
Chukung, you can get a close view of Lhotse, Lhotse shar and Ama Dablam. |
LOW CAMP

Day
14: |
Trek toward lower Base Camp of Island Peak slowly. Rest of the afternoon is
free for acclimatization. Camp at a Yak pasturland. (Appx. - 4 hours) |
HIGH CAMP

15: |
Steep ascent after breakfast, the trail is very rocky on this area. (Appx -
3 hrs). Rest of the day free for acclimatization. |
LOW CAMP

Day
16: |
Get
up early and be ready for the ascent, with all you ropes. Ice axe and
crampones, Weather permiting it takes you about 4 hours for climbing to
reach on the top. Island peak offers you one of the most dramatic view of
Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, Chopolu. Amadablam and other Khumbu Himal Ranges
(Except Everest). Return to Lower Base Camp after our successful ascent of
Island Peak (6,198 m.). (Appx - 4 hours) |
DINGBOCHE
(14,000 ft.) |
Day
17: |
Descend to Pareshya Ghyab then walk along easy track to Chukung. Lunch here;
now walk for three hours to Dingboche where you camp for the night. (Appx. -
5 hours) |
THANGBOCHE

Day
18: |
From Dingboche descend all the way to Pangboche. Lunch here. Then descend
again till you reach Imja bridge. From here it is a gradual climb to
Thangboche. Camp here. In the evening you can visit the Monastery and pay
respect to the Head Lama. (Appx. - 6 hours) |
NAMCHE BAZAR

19: |
Trek back to Namche Bazar. (Appx. - 6 hours) |
LUKLA
(8,200 ft.) |
Day
20: |
Descend till you reach the confluence of the Imja Drangpa and Nangpo
Tsengpo. From here it is an easy walk to Jorsale where you stop for lunch.
After an easy walk of two hours you will reach Lukla in the evening you can
enjoy camp fire till late night drinking Chang and singing dancing with
Sherpas.
