The journey commences in the ancient city of Kathmandu , from where we will take a short flight to the beautiful hillside village of Lukla (2800m). We continue by trekking through the lush vegetation of Sagarmatha National Park , enjoying eyecatching pine forests, rhododendron flowers and an abundance of wildlife, to Namche Bazaar (3440m). Namche Bazaar is the first halt, necessary for acclimatization to higher altitudes while enjoying the colorful and vibrant market place. The Sherpa people, whose lifestyle is uniquely different compared to any other indigenous populace in the world, are renowned for their warm heartedness and inhabit the villages in which you will be staying. After visiting Khumjung village trekking will bring you to the village of Tengboche , home to the highest Buddhist monastery in the world (4100m) and also reputed by photographers as one of the best places to capture the awesome beauty of Mt. Everest (8848m) and its surrounding peaks.
The following morning, you proceed to Dingboche (4410m) passing immense frozen glaciers and dramatic scenery, where another day of acclimatization day is necessary. Time here however is well spent because of the exceptional views of the snowcapped Ama Dablam (6956m). Advancing to Everest Base Camp (5450m), you can enjoy spectacular glacial forms and a great sense of triumph from making it “all the wayE From Base Camp the trek continues to Kalapattar a spectacular viewing point (5550m), to enjoy a magnificent sunrise over Mt. Everest . You then retrace your steps back to Lukla village from where you will take a short flight back to Kathmandu , enjoying your last views of the aweinspiring Himalayan range.
